The Nockberge region and the protected area provide diverse habitats for their plant and animal residents.  Lush mountain meadows and alpine swards are home to mighty snow eagles, deft alpine salamanders and the very popular marmots. The rocky landscapes attract scorpions and spiders; in the bodies of water all kinds of native fish species cavort; and in the woods you can hear the sound of birdcalls.
